Oriole Report Airs 1st Broadcast from New Studio

Oriole Report Airs 1st Broadcast from New Studio

On Friday morning, Avon High School students and staff tuned in for a special broadcast of the school's news program, Oriole Report. This broadcast was special because it was the first broadcast from AHS's new broadcast studio. Designed adjacent to the Learning Commons — a brand-new east-west corridor at the school, just completed as part of the ongoing Making Room for More renovation and expansion project (see Mr. Shockley's video tour) — this studio is a high-tech environment where students learn and collaborate on the job.

Broadcast Teacher Lauren Tauer and students hosted an open house before the broadcast, giving school administrators, district leaders, and other curious onlookers an opportunity to tour the new space. Once they went on air, the students got down to business and pulled off an excellent, informative first broadcast.
