Our Oratorical World Champion

Our Oratorical World Champion
Avon High School student Calleigh Neal is the 2024 Optimist International Oratorical World Champion.
Her journey began with the local competition in February. After the local competition, she advanced to the Indiana South Regionals and District Finals. She won the Mid-America Regional competition in St. Louis before, finally, emerging victorious against the other national regions. She earned first place on July 19 for her speech, which was based on the theme, "How to Change the World with Optimism."
According to Heather Neal, Calleigh's proud Mom, "While Hoosiers have a rich history in competing in the regional and national finals over the hundred year history [of the program], she is the first Hoosier to win the world champion title after the competition went international in 2016."
We are so proud of you, Calleigh. Way to go!
