Pine Tree Young Leaders Raise Spirits

Pine Tree Young Leaders Raise Spirits

by Megan Gain, 5th Grade Teacher

The Pine Tree Elementary Young Leaders Club held a candy cane sale and Merry & Bright Spirit Week during the week of December 8-12. Their goal was to raise money for the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry.

This group of 4th and 5th grade leaders raised $417.05 by selling candy canes for $1 apiece. Many staff members chose to purchase candy canes for their students, as well. The Pine Tree Elementary School PTO purchased and donated all the candy canes, so every dime of the proceeds will be donated to the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry.

Way to go, young leaders!

About the Young Leaders Club

The Pine Tree Young Leaders Club is designed to inspire and empower 4th and 5th grade students to become positive role models within their school community. This exciting new leadership opportunity encourages students to be responsible, respectful, safe, and helpful members of Pine Tree. Young Leaders come to school each day with a growth mindset and a passion for making Pine Tree the best it can be. As part of the club, members will serve as leaders in their classrooms and buddy classrooms, represent the student voice in school decision-making, collaborate with staff and the PTO, and model leadership and kindness for their peers.
