Renovation, Construction Projects Enter Final Stretch

Renovation, Construction Projects Enter Final Stretch

In a mere five months — in time for July 30, the first day of the 2025-26 school year — all of our ongoing renovation and construction projects will be complete and ready to welcome students and educators. Each of these projects is part of our strategic expansion plan, enabling us to make room for more students in our growing school corporation.

The following projects are getting ever closer to completion:

  • Cedar, Maple, River Birch Elementary Schools: Classroom additions to make room for grade k-5 transition
  • Hickory, Pine Tree, and Sycamore Elementary Schools: Light interior renovations to make room for grade k-5 programming
  • Evergreen Elementary (AIS East): Kindergarten wing to make room for grade k-5 transition
  • Willow Elementary (AIS West): Interior renovations to prepare for grade k-5 transition
  • Avon Middle School North and South: Expansion and renovations to prepare for grade 6-8 transition
  • Avon Middle School West: New construction for students in grades 6-8
  • AHS: Renovation and expansion to make room for up to 4,000 students

Because debt from previous building projects is being paid off, all renovation and expansion projects are being completed with no impact to the taxpayer or use of referendum funds. We have actually decreased the debt service (i.e. construction) tax rate by 21.3% since 2017. (Check out our 'Dollars & Sense' series for more info on how school finance works.)

We are excited to see these projects coming to the finish line, and we're even more excited to see students and teachers using these new and newly renovated spaces starting in July!
