Rioux for the Win
The Avon Board of School Trustees issued a Commendation honoring Avon High School senior Luke Rioux for his IHSAA Wrestling State Championship. Luke — of the famous wrestling Rioux family — is the sixth wrestler in the AHS wrestling program's history to bring home an individual state championship. He won the 126-pound weight class.
Luke's senior season record was 40 wins and 5 losses and he caps off a distinguished career in which he won 130 matches.
Luke has won many noteworthy distinctions during his career including: two-time Hoosier Crossroads Conference Champion, two-time IHSAA Sectional Champion, two-time IHSAA State Qualifier, and two-time IHSAA State Placewinner.
Congratulations, Luke. Your hard work and dedication have paid off. Thank you for representing Avon Schools so well.
