Sarah Swafford Wins IRTA Grant

Representatives from the Indiana Retired Teachers Association (IRTA) visited Sycamore Elementary School recently to award Sarah Swafford with a 2022 Active Teacher Grant.

"Mrs. Swafford does a great job addressing students' social and emotional needs while helping them succeed academically," said Principal Nicole Harris. "This grant enables her to provide students with excellent opportunities to learn and practice important life skills like turn-taking and conflict resolution through structured play in the classroom."

According to the IRTA, "This program provides one-time grants to active educators who foster creativity in students."
