School Board Appreciation Month
January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we are excited to show our gratitude to the Avon Board of School Trustees for their legacy of effective governance.
At their first meeting of 2026, the Avon Board of School Trustees welcomed its newest member, Josh Yoder, celebrated now-retired member Cindy Simmons, and chose new officers for the coming year:
- Sarah Parent will serve as President. She was Vice President last year.
- Mike Langford is the new Vice President as he begins his second year of board service.
- Jennifer Smith will serve a second consecutive year as Secretary.
The Avon Board of School Trustees has compiled a long, unbroken record of service — mostly undertaken behind the scenes with little or no fanfare — to Avon students and the community that elected them. Thank you, Sarah, Mike, Jennifer, Kim, and Josh, for serving!
