Students Compete in Drink Wars for a Sweet Cause
Third-grade students at River Birch Elementary School competed in 'Drink Wars' for a sweet cause.
Those of a certain age will remember the 'Cola Wars' pitting Coke vs. Pepsi. Students at River Birch might not remember the cola wars, but they were engaged in a 'Drink Wars' of their own. This time it's fruit punch vs. pink lemonade vs. strawberry lemonade vs. regular ol' fashioned lemonade.
"All 3rd grade classes have been reading The Lemonade War," notes 3rd Grade Teacher Kristin Pappas. "As a culminating activity, we hosted a friendly competition: Drink Wars."
At lunch, students and staff could purchase a glass of their favorite beverage for just $1. The proceeds benefit the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry.
The students raised $418!
Kudos to these sweet 3rd Grade students for a job well done.
