Students Excel at HOSA State Leadership Conference

This spring, 66 future health professionals — Avon High School Biomedical Science students — participated in the 2026 Indiana State HOSA Leadership Conference.

They put in an impressive showing.

HOSA–Future Health Professionals is a global, student-led organization designed for students pursuing careers in healthcare. It operates within secondary, collegiate, and adult education to develop leadership, technical skills, and professionalism through competitive events, community service, and partnerships, helping to bridge the gap between education and the health industry.

The following Students were State Medalists:

1st Place

• Ifeoluwa Adesanya  - ATC Microbiology
• Tanmeet Kaur - ATC Occupational Health & Safety
• Tanmeet Kaur - Pharmacology

"These accomplishments represent the highest level of achievement at the state level," says AHS HBS/Zoology Teacher Lori McAfee. "Both students have distinguished themselves among top competitors across Indiana, and their success reflects their dedication to pursuing future careers in healthcare."
