Students. Volunteers. Role Models.

Students. Volunteers. Role Models.

This morning, hundreds of little eyes were on the Avon High School students who served as volunteer readers in Avon elementary classrooms.

Principal Matt Shockley and 14 young men from AHS were part of Sheltering Wings' 8th-annual Men IN Action READ program, an effort to involve men across Hendricks County in actively encouraging kids. It takes a village to raise up a child, and the students and men who took a couple of hours from their day to read to and interact with elementary students made an important contribution to that effort.

Thank you, students, for taking an active leadership role in our community.
