Strategic Expansion

As Avon and Washington Township have grown, student enrollment in Avon Schools has grown, too. As a school corporation, our strategy has been to manage growth by maximizing each square foot of our school buildings, controlling costs by expanding existing schools before building new, and minimizing disruption to students, families, and employees by only making changes when necessary.

Making Room for More - Avon High School Renovation & Expansion

As student enrollment has continued its steady increase in Avon, enrollment at Avon High School has eclipsed 3,300 students. Enrollment should reach 4,000 students during the 2028-29 school year.

Avon High School, opened nearly 25 years ago, is in need of renovation and expansion. In 2022, work will begin on a project that is scheduled for completion at the start of the 2024-25 school year. This entire project will be completed with $0 referendum funds and $0 in increases to the taxpayer.

Enrollment Projections - February 2021 Demographic Report

Susan Brudvig, PhD, compiled comprehensive demographic reports for Avon Schools in 2015 and 2018. She presented updated findings and projections at the Board of School Trustees meeting on February 8, 2021. We are grateful for Dr. Brudvig's work. Her insights are helping us plan for a future that supports enrollment projections and continued excellence in Avon Schools.
