Student Laptop Information for 2025-26
The Strategic Technology Expansion Plan and Upgrades Program (STEP-UP) will prepare Avon students for a technology-rich future while expanding learning outside the traditional classroom. In this 1:1 web environment students will collaboratively create content, explore and expand their learning with access to web-based tools and information, and interact with rich curricular content created by teachers in our Learning Management System.
- Students in Grades 6-11 will use a school-provided device. Laptop insurance is highly recommended. Laptops must be returned to the school upon withdrawal or graduation.
- Students in Grade 12 may either use a school-provided device or bring a personal device instead. This will no longer be permitted in 2026-2027. Chromebooks, tablets, and cell phones are NOT supported devices.
- Expand a tab below for more information on student devices and the STEP-UP program.
Please note: Starting July 1, 2026, a new Indiana law (Senate Bill 78) requires K-12 public and charter schools to implement "bell-to-bell" bans on student cellphones and personal communication devices. Students are no longer permitted to bring a personal device to school. The school provided laptop is the only device students may connect to the Avon Schools Wi-Fi.
