ACSC Teachers receive Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship

Two Avon Community School Corporation teachers were named as recipients of the Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship. They are among 100 K-12 educators who will receive a $12,000 grant to support a project of personally and professionally fulfilling activities.

Avon Middle School South Engineering and Technology Teacher, David R. Murphy, will use his grant to explore the famous Route 66 for his winning submission, “Get Your Kicks on Route 66.” Mr. Murphy will travel the historic highway in a fully restored 1937 Ford truck. He plans to visit more than 30 historical sites and museums, bringing back history, technology and enthusiasm to his Engineering and Technology students. Mr. Murphy has taught at Avon Schools for 33 years.

Avon High School Spanish Teacher Kyle G.
